Alaska Shorebird Project

Every summer, Dr. Nate Senner with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst heads up to the Subarctic and sets up camp in Beluga, AK to continue ongoing research on Hudsonian Godwits, a migratory shorebird that travels thousands of miles to nest in the insect rich ecosystem of Southcentral Alaska. I worked as a research specialist in 2022, traversing the terrain and dodging the moose in the bogs, helping to collect data for the continued understanding of this impressive species.
