Every summer, Dr. Nate Senner with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst heads up to the Subarctic and sets up camp in Beluga, AK to continue ongoing research on Hudsonian Godwits, a migratory shorebird that travels thousands of miles to nest in the insect rich ecosystem of Southcentral Alaska. I worked as a research specialist in 2022, traversing the terrain and dodging the moose in the bogs, helping to collect data for the continued understanding of this impressive species.Â
